| Playa Espadilla is the longest and most accessible of Manuel Antonio's beaches, lying at the south end of the Quepos-Manuel Antonio road. It is a two-minute walk from Hotel Del Mar. Many beachside restaurants, shops and street-vendors are found here, including a surf shop, if you want to rent a board. A great spot for sunning, swimming, meeting friends for a light meal or drinks, and surfing, especially when the tide is coming in. Though this popular beach can be crowded on a Sunday or during Christmas and Easter holidays, the beach is so long that you can find plenty of space to spread your beach blanket in the sun or in the shade of palms or almond trees. A riding stable near Hotel Del Mar offers horseback riding on the beach. Swimmers should be aware that rip tides can occur in the waters off this beach. | |
